Back Issues
Whats the chance of back issues being scanned onto the site
Re: Back Issues
The Society still has a sizable inventory of printed color News magazine issues (Vol. XIV thru Vol. XVII) which we'll again offer for sale again this Fall - Winter, 2014. There are only a handful of B&W printed issues (Vol. I thru Vol. XIII) which we'll also offer for sale. There is still a sizable demand for printed back issues. Once these printed stocks are gone or mostly depleted, we likely will begin posting our Society magazine back issues online, starting with the earlier B&W issues. Certain we can begin doing so this November or December. The proceeds from the remaining Company Store items including magazines will be utilized to fund specific Archive preservation and embellishment projects at UofA.
Our donation to the University of Akron Archive also includes a complete set of Society magazines, one of only four complete sets of printed issues. Another complete set will be donated to the DeGolyer Library at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. We have restricted the use of those magazines to Library viewing only, but likely will release them for online posting by those institutions at some point.
As you may have have noted, the past three issues or our News magazine are posted on the Society virtual website and are available to viewers as free downloads. That will be the policy going forward since we no longer maintain a membership requirement or collect dues.
