The Interchange
is provided as a service to those interested in the history of the AC&Y.
It is open to all - members and non-members alike. We ask that subject matter
be related in some way to the AC&Y or affiliated roads.
We ask that Interchange users be respectful of one another and use appropriate language. We do not encourage commercial advertisements but we do not ban them. We reserve the right to ban them in the future should they overwhelm the Interchange. The Interchange is monitored and inappropriate content will be removed. Should it become necessary to obtain space, messages over 90 days old will be removed unless they are part of an active thread. Make sure that you have permission to use any images that you post and give proper credit. The AC&Y Historical Society takes no responsibility for copyright infringement arising from the use of images residing on other servers. The AC&Y Historical Society takes no responsibility for the accuracy of any information posted by others on the Interchange. We do not endorse any products or services recommended or advertised by others on the Interchange.
Can I put html tags anywhere in my posts? No. You cannot use HTML tags in any field except body of the message.
Why are there colons in the message when I try to post a followup? Colons appear in the message dialog box when you try to followup up on a message to indicate that those lines are quoting the previous document.
Your post most likely did not show up, because your browser did not reload the page, it simply pulled it out of cache. Please reload your browser and it should then appear. How do I post pictures on the Interchange? You post images by filling in the "image URL" field. Make sure the image is in a browser friendly format (most often JPG or GIF) You must have the image on a server that is accessible to the world wide web. Most internet service providers (ISP) give you some amount of storage space with your account. You should upload your image to your ISP's server via file transfer protocol (FTP). Your image URL will probably look something like this "http://www.yourisp.com/yourusername/image.jpg". Please do not post URL's to images that are not yours or on a server on which you are not a user. Please also be aware of copyright infringement and get permission to use the image and give proper credit.
Where can I get the scripts for this program? The scripts are written in Perl and created by Matt Wright. They are free to anyone who wishes to use them and you can get them as well as other scripts at: http://worldwidemart.com/scripts/. Enjoy! | |
