Photo of AC&Y coach 15 and RPO 11 at Akron in 1941 When the AC&Y took control of the Northern Ohio Railway in 1920, it assumed daily mixed train service between Akron and Delphos, Ohio. Mixed trains 90 and 95 also handled the AC&Y's premium freight manifests. In 1925-26, the AC&Y rebuilt two wood coaches and added two second-hand baggage cars to comply with U.S. Mail / Railway Express contracts. The roster consisted of passenger coaches #15, #16, #17 plus baggage-mail #11 and #12. In 1942, combination RPO #261, #262 and coach #263 were acquired from the Mississippi Central. The replacement cars featured "Buy War Bonds" and road name lettering in yellow-gold. The Society offers decals for modeling these cars in our Company Store Photo of AC&Y coach 16

Photo of Derailment Tymochtee This series of pictures is from a very bad derailment which ocurred at M.P. 61 near Tymochtee (six miles east of Carey) on Febuary 4, 1966. It involved eastbound train No. 94, F-M diesels 502-208 and 66 cars. A rail broke at the curve derailing the two engines and 27 cars following. An article by Bob Lucas in the "AC&Y HS News" (Vol. 12, No. 2) tells the full story and includes a list of the cars damaged, what they were carrying, the shippers and the destination.
