Accurail has announced the August, 2014 release of a 3-bay ACF Center Flow covered hopper in an AC&Y lettering scheme. The AC&Y bought these 4460 cu. ft. cars, numbers 440-459, in 1965. According to Wade Griffis' article in the latest AC&Y Modeler, the Accurail car is actually 3'6" longer than the AC&Y prototypes. There are a few other differences, so some modelers will choose to modify the model. Wade's article should provide the info needed for modifying or adding details to the Accurail kit. Photos released by Accurail reveal a car that has a very nice overall look to it. Many modelers will probably find the car to be acceptable as it comes out of the box.
