Re: Brittain Yard Operations

Tom, thank you for all the great info and ideas. My plan runs with West to the left, therefore looking from the South as I do want to include the bluff backdrop. I have built hidden staging to the East and now have a better idea what trains to run on and off. I debated over the AB&B but now see ...

Re: Brittain Yard Operations

Luke (Robert), thank you for your reply and information. My recollections of BY are from the early 70's when I lived in Goodyear Heights and was also a route driver for Budweiser and then later 7-UP and East Akron/Mogadore were a part of my route. I grew up in Barberton so saw more of the AB&B o...

Brittain Yard Operations

I am modeling the AC&YRR from Brittain Yard to Delphos in an approx. 400 sq. ft. finished walk-in attic area and in summer 1952. Let's me run a little steam, H15-44, H16-44's and H20-44's (if they ever get produced). I am following the Jim Six method of layout building (read his stuff to underst...

Status of these issues?

I realize that the AC&Y HS is a volunteeer group and that a lot of time goes in to producing the HS News Magazine. I see that there will be 2 magazines mailed in "Spring 2013", however, I have not yet received the Fall 2012 magazine. Has this been mailed? Was I missed? I am also waitin...

Re: Convention

I was hoping to make it to the convention this year (finally). However, once again my plans were foiled. My oldest son (high school senior) had a ice hockey tournament in Louisville that same weekend. I had hoped to get away on Saturday am to drive up but our early game for Saturday got rescheduled ...

Re: Akron Barberton Belt

Tim, I worked at Ohio Brass from June 1965 until April 1966 (when I went to work for Uncle Sam). I was a Tow Motor or Fork Lift operator on third shift. Usually I unloaded box cars on overtime after my normal shift which was spent emptying trash bins, moving pallets of fired insulators from the kiln...

Re: Spring and Summer 2012 AC&YHS News

Ditto above. As Carey is one of the LDE's I am modeling, the information in the Newsletter was very helpful.

Re: Article Suggestion

I guess I had overlooked this post, but I too am awaiting your article Bob. I am laying track to other parts of my layout but leaving Brittain Yard (I am doing engine servicing area but not "yard") until I better understand function/operation. Also, the other end...Delphos. While the Model...
