Re: The ex-New Haven acy box cars

Take a look at this roster: http://www.lkorailroad.com/roster/. I would be happy to photograph/measure/describe any of these to you if it will help. They are all brand new, in the box, awaiting completion of my railroad.

Re: Archives

I lived in the area from 1965 to 1996. Track-wise nothing changed during that time that I noticed. If there were changes then they must have been minor ones. Don't ever recall seeing heavy MOW activity in Brittain. Bob Lucas of ACYHS would know for sure.

Re: Construction of the LK&O Railroad

Thanks for the compliments Matt. The name is Alan by the way. I have my signature line data filled in but it isn't appearing in my posts for some reason. I'll eventually figure out what I am doing wrong.

Construction of the LK&O Railroad

Don't let the railroad name fool you, the LK&O is really 80% AC&Y plus 20% of two other LDEs that are important to me. The full name is the Lapeer Kitzmiller and Ohio RR. The Ohio portion is AC&Y Brittain Yard, Spur 4 to General Tire, along with a freelanced Goodyear/Firestone/General Ti...

Re: Archives

I used multiple zoomed in Google maps to create a full map of Brittain and then painstakingly drew the track plan overlay. I can send you a hi-res version of this if you like.

Re: Akron Barberton Belt

I currently do not have ABB in my track plan however the design was engineered to accept it if desired at a later time. Spur 4 off Brittain Yard is at the end of my upper deck. The lower deck is accessed by a helix below spur 4 so is suitable for modeling the ABB interchange (with a little distortio...

LK&O First Time Posting

Hi! My name is Alan Bailey. I am a member of the AC&Y HS and am building a freelanced HO layout that incorporates some LDEs of the AC&Y however my railroad is not just AC&Y. It also contains a few LDEs of the WM Thomas Subdivision and GT Flint Subdivision. A blog that documents my railro...
