This is actually not on my layout but rather on a club layout. I thought the scenery was nice so I used it and imposed the AC&Y theme.

Homer's Caboose

On Saturday, August 11th, 1951 train 92 rolls east through Arlington. On the rear caboose 63, assigned to conductor Homer Baumgartner. In less than 24 hours, Time Table #25 will come into effect.

The East end of the yard, in addition to yard crews had a local on duty at either 1500 or 1700 hrs (I can't remember which) that switched at Wiemers and then up the Gilchrest Lead switching ACME, ORR, Sieblerling Rubber, General Tire, BF Goodrich, Montgomery Wards, Schneiers Fish, Burger Iron, Rubbe...

International Caboose Kits

Well here is the finished product. Only one real modification to the caboose kit. The tops of the end sill supports are square on the kit. Mine are angled as per the prototype. Both styles of the road name were used.

Hand laid, 45 degree, code 70 crossing of the Baltimore and Ohio at CG. Installation of the code 70 DT&I crossing is next. Also hand laid.

Jim, I used lots of different decals sets for the 5000 series car. Including a Champion alphabet set, leftovers from various rail graphics sets that came with Westerfield hoppers, the repack and new date decals are left overs from the 6000 series decal sets offered by the society.
