Re: AC&Y-A&BB Book Update III

Will ACYHS be offering the book for sale? As you gentlemen have done the work getting it together, I would prefer to buy it from you (at full price) rather than from a third party. The profits could offset ACYHS costs incurred in working on it, orother projects.

Re: Tonnage ratings?

Dale,
I scanned the tonnage rating tables mentioned earlier to the ACYHS. Haven't seen them. Have they been forwarded to you? If you still want them, send your e-mail address to me 1oldgoat@centurytel.net and I'll send them directly to you.

Re: Onward to Youngstown??

Following 224 would make perfect sense. "Old 224" was hill and dale with a fair number of curves, but "new 224" was straight and level. If the line ran east of the W&LE/NKP out of Mogadore, the only encounter would be Pennsy's C&P and NYC's LEA&W (Would they be at gra...

Re: Introduction

If you back date your era by a few years, you could have your NKP engines turned using AC&Y's wye for just $1.00.

Re: AC&Y 505 For Sale

I won't say getting it back to you guys would be easy, but it is doable. The first requirement is to get 505 up to FRA standards for being towed. We're talking air brake system, wheels, safety appliances (grabs, steps, etc). If you can't do that, you've lost the game already. The key would get a &qu...

Re: Tonnage ratings?

AC&Y employee timetable #42, June 27, 1948 has tonnage ratings for "Class R Engines 402-410 and Diesel Engines 500 Class", and "Class M Engines 320-324". It's pretty complex. Eastbound it's broken down into segments: Delphos-Bluffton-Carey-New London-Spencer-Brittain with a t...

Onward to Youngstown??

Several places I've read that AC&Y had plans to extend eastward into Youngstown, an idea that was considered as late as the 1940s, if I'm correct. Does anyone know what route It would have taken? Was there ever a preliminary survey? We've discussed this on Classic Trains forum's AC&Y thread....
